Brother Mike Sauve, a member of the Rideau Canal Local 00061, needs help.  His 8-year-old granddaughter Monica is currently battling Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Monosomy.  She needs high doses of chemotherapy and a bone marrow stem cell transplant.  The family has had to travel to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital for treatment and Monica has insisted that her Poppa (Brother Mike) has to stay with her the entire time.  He has taken a leave from work to be with his daughter and granddaughter.

Unfortunately, when it looked like they might finally be going home after 3 months, they were told that they will need to stay a few weeks longer because her blood counts are down and doctors don’t know why.  This means that the family is also dealing with the additional expenses of being in Toronto longer.

If anyone can donate to assist Brother Sauve and his granddaughter, it would be very much appreciated.  To make a donation, please click here.  If you would like to learn about Monica’s progress, please follow her journey at Monica’s Transplant Fund page on Facebook.
